What is USS?

The ICAEW Student Scheme (USS) is designed to help you develop the workplace skills employers in the finance, accounting and business sectors are looking for.

What’s included?

Xero cloud accounting certificate

Employers are increasingly seeking recruits who have good digital skills and tech know-how. This short online course takes about six-hours to complete. You’ll learn in your own time by completing real-life client tasks and you receive a recognised certificate at the end of the course – it’s a great way to evidence the digital skills that employers look for.

A stepping stone to ACA - ICAEW CFAB

Joining USS gives you free registration* to study ICAEW CFAB – this is our certificate in business, finance and accounting. ICAEW CFAB provides students with an understanding of business and is made up of the first six ACA modules. If you are studying a finance or business-related degree, you may be able to claim exemptions for some of the exams.

Microsoft Excel training

Joining USS gives you free membership to ICAEW’s Excel Community (normal cost £60 +VAT) and you’ll be able to access a Microsoft Excel online training programme. After you've taken an Excel iQ test to find out your ability level, you’ll learn at your own pace with video tutorials, practical exercises and blogs.
